Doc John Fuder
Director | Heart for the City and PrayChicago
Dr. John Fuder is the Founder and Director of Heart for the City. Doc Fuder's passion to teach and train others to engage the city comes from his many years of experience in ministry in California and training students in Urban Studies at Moody Theological Seminary. Now Doc Fuder is equipping the broader body of Christ to engage more deeply in contextualizing the Gospel in their local communities. He has also been leading the PrayChicago movement that began in 2014 and still growing today. He holds a B.R.E. from Prairie Bible College, an M.A. in Religion from Pepperdine University and a Ph.D. from Biola University. He and his wife, Nellie, have three children and a granddaughter and live on Chicago's north side.

I am finishing my Masters of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in preparation to be in pastoral ministry. It's been a journey to this exact step, but I feel incredibly equipped going into the pastoral route because my mind isn't just focused on Bible and Theology (thought that is important). My mind and heart care for communities, social and cultural ills, and the flourishing of human life. The skills of leading events and ministries on campus, doing extensive research on communities, and building relationships on Wheaton campus have prepared me to take this step and continue to be a learner at the age of 27. I am so thankful for my time at Wheaton College and can confidently say that Wheaton has prepared to truly seek Christ and his Kingdom.
